Baodai Bridge（Chinese Ink Color 2002 1300×120cm）寶帶橋位於江蘇省現蘇州市古城外，乃中國現存最長之連拱石橋。始創於唐朝元和十壹年，公元816年，傳為刺史王仲舒捐資興建矣。橋傍大運河跨澹台湖車口共五十三孔，輕拱薄墩，秀麗精巧，非但國內絕無僅有，當今世上亦為罕見矣。 公元1863年此橋被英人戈登拆去壹孔，致使當時此橋北部26孔連續倒塌矣。八年後，即同治11年，公元1871年修復此橋。抗日戰爭初期，南端六孔又橫遭日機炸毀。建國後，於1965年修復。不意，十年浩劫又慘遭破壞。17年後，即1982年再次整治橋墩橋面，引道駁岸，樹碑亭。四年後，即1986年，又將橋面所置之電桿全部拆除。嗚呼！至此，古橋舊貌得以重見天日也。 公元2001年七月既望，此日淩晨天氣陰雲，余懷舊之情勃然而發，憶黃髪垂髫，曾遊寶帶橋。時光流逝風塵四十余載，頗有隔世之感也！今將舊地重遊，心潮澎湃，而內人自莊為滬上女子，到蘇二十余載，亦未曾遊覽過此勝跡，故即起程前往矣。抵達目的地，天氣早已轉晴，時火傘當空，汗流浹背。但見昔日之寶帶橋卻靜靜地躺在大運河畔！四周空無一人矣。余頓覺滿目蕭然，感極而悲者矣！少焉定神，方見駁岸漁船點點，大運河上機船響聲不絕於耳，南來北往，生機盎然，好一派江南水鄉勝景！清風徐來，碧波銀光，遠處青山繚繞，氣象萬千，斯則心曠神怡，豁然開朗也。 時隔匝月，偕夫人自莊再次前往尋古億舊，實地采風寫生。今作此寶帶橋，古人建橋偉業之創舉，頌今人護橋修復之功矣。 並留 鴻爪雲耳 歲在2002年夏日適逢大馬吾之幗益出世百日矣 顧乃平寫於慰堂齋並記之
